History: The Polytechnic Institute of Coimbra (IPC) was created in 1979 in the context of the implementation of polytechnic education in Portugal.
Despite its recent history, the CPI inherited the tradition and experience of schools that started to integrate it and contributing to it can assert itself today as one of the largest polytechnics in the country and one of the most important institutions of higher education in Portugal.
